Bison Ranch Retreat Center is located in the White Mountain resort area between Payson and Show Low, Arizona. This area is one of the most appealing vacation destinations in the Southwest, with many year-round recreational opportunities and points of scenic interest. Immediately south of the property is the Mogollon Rim, which offers exceptional views and numerous lakes, ideal for boating, fishing and other water sports.
The White Mountain Apache Indian Reservation alone has over 300 miles of streams and 26 major lakes. In winter, skiers flock to nearby Sunrise Ski Resort, Arizona's largest ski area, which reaches more than 11,000 feet in elevation.
The White Mountain Trail system, a collection of 25 to 30 interconnecting, multi-use trails, accommodates hikers, bikers and equestrians. Designed to provide views of the scenery, the trail system was created to preserve the region's tremendous outdoor resources. Three public golf courses are also available in this area for those looking for sports of a different kind.
